At Moksha Yoga Victoria, students of all levels and ability are
honoured for their unique differences, limitations, and talents. All
classes are suitable for both the beginner and experienced yogi alike,
so please come in and explore!
Moksha class   (90 min) -
40 poses practiced in a heated room designed to promote openess through
your hips and strength through the upper body while detoxifying your
entire body. Both standing and seated poses are practiced, giving a
balanced cardiovascular practice.
Moksha class   (60 & 75 min) - The regular Moksha series
condensed into 60 or 75min. The poses flow together with fewer pauses
than the 90 minute class creating a vigorous and fun class. Great for
beginners!!
Moksha Flow   (60 min) - For those on the go! The Moksha series
condensed into one hour with sun salutations and creative ways to flow
the series together. Every class is different!
Moksha Music   (75 min) - The regular Moksha series set to the instructor's favourite tunes.
Moksha Silent  (60 min)
- The traditional Moksha Yoga series, practiced in silence. The
class is guided, with very minimal and often no verbal instruction, by an instructor
practicing the series at the front of the room. The class allows
the student to explore the depths of their own practice by providing an
opportunity to investigate the sensations of the body and the breath
more fully. It is a chance to really feel the practice without
auditory distraction. This class is best suited for students who
are familiar with the series.
Intro to Moksha   (60 min) - Learn the basics of a hot Moksha practice. In-depth alignment cues set as an open forum class. Come with your questions! This class includes demonstrations and hands-on adjustments that will support your individual practice.
Community class   (60 & 90min) -
A class taught by a recent graduate from the Moksha Yoga teacher
training program or a teacher looking to build community by teaching a
reduced price class. All classes are $7 and are a great opportunity for
students and teachers to share their knowledge and experience with each
other. Feedback for the learning teacher is encouraged!
Beginner Hot Flow   (60min) -
Never tried a flow class before? Learn the basics here. Sun salutation A and B, and other creative flow sequences will be introduced. The teacher will provide lots of instruction and support. This is a gentle style flow class that allows beginners to educate themselves with sequencing and body alignment.
Warm Flow  (60 & 90min) - Warm Flow at Moksha is lively, energetic and flowing. This class is appropriate for beginners through to advanced students. Modified variations of more challenging postures will always be given. The room is lightly heated.
Hot Flow   (90 min)-
Focuses on linking breath with movement. Moving from pose to pose in a
smooth, easy manner. This class is beginner friendly and a great intro
to Hot Power Flow Classes.
Hot Power Flow   (60 & 75min) - Progressive and full spectrum sequences linked together through the
breathwave. This is a challenging class that works the body on all
levels. There is creativity in the sequencing which makes the class
unpredictable and a lot of fun. This class is for students who are comfortable in the heat and have taken a minimum of 10 heated or flow classes as it is an intermediate level class.
Restorative Flow (90min) -
Restorative Flow is a gentle hatha flow practice with a compassionate approach. This class has an emphasis on meditation, physical healing and spiritual transformation which can overflow into our daily lives. In this deep stretch class, each student learns to find their own level of practice on a given day by looking inward.
Hot Yoga for Surfers   (60 min):
A seasonal class coming back in the fall/winter. Whether you snowboard, skateboard, surf or kiteboard this class is for you! We
will focus on opening the shoulders and hips while strengthening the
core and back. All done to some funky tunes. All welcome (even if you
don't surf).
Hatha Flow  (60 min) Reduced heat. - This class involves postures practiced in a regular hatha class sequenced together..
Hatha Flow focuses on alignment and gracefully moving from one posture to another in
a sequence that "flow" with the breath.
Hatha Level 2 (90 min) Moon Room
-This class will focus on building the foundations for inversions like
shoulder, head and hand stands. There will also be a focus on
pranayama, backbending, arm and elbow balancing.Pre-requisite to have
attended 10 or more classes. Intermediate level. Not being offered at this time.
Yin Yoga (75 min) Reduced heat - Yin yoga is a system of
yoga designed to open the body, peeling away layers of tension, stress
and injury that reside within. A gentle approach is used to stretch the
body, using longer holds to get beyond the muscle tissue into the
connective tissue, the fascia of the body. It is a great compliment to
your regular practice.
Yin Yang (75 min or 90 min) -
Yin yoga with some flow and posture sequencing to warm the body and awaken your energy.
Yoga for Runners  (75 min) - Yoga
that targets the runners body! This class will help improve
performance, help lessen your recovery time and lengthen the muscles
used for running. This heated class will help prevent injuries or any
arthritic starts. This is a seasonal class ending in September. Be sure to check it out in the Spring/Summer.
Awaken! (60 min) - Buddhist Yoga: Beginning with Kum Nye (an ancient Tibetan Buddhist yoga to awaken energy) then moving into Zazen (upright sitting zen), followed by Dynamic Meditation and Kinhin (walking meditation) and ending with Metta Bhavana (Cultivating Love), by donation.
Karma class   (Friday night 8:30pm by donation - min $5 changing in September to $7) -
The regular Moksha series practiced in one hour. All proceeds go to a
different charity each month. An affordable class for someone looking
to see what this "hot yoga thing" is all about. Bring your friends and
family.
Cowabunga Meditation (60 min) Moon Room - Come share the gifts that will inspire and culitave the magic of life
through living in a constant state of gratitude, self awareness and
purpuseful passion. Surf the Wave! Explore light hearted but powerful
meditation techniques. Minimum $5 donation.
