At Moksha Yoga Victoria, students of all levels and ability are honoured for their unique differences, limitations, and talents. All classes are suitable for both the beginner and experienced yogi alike, so please come in and explore!
Moksha class (90 min) - 40 poses practiced in a heated room designed to promote openess through your hips and strength through the upper body while detoxifying your entire body. Both standing and seated poses are practiced, giving a balanced cardiovascular practice.
Moksha class (60 & 75 min) - The regular Moksha series condensed into 60 or 75min. The poses flow together with fewer pauses than the 90 minute class creating a vigorous and fun class. Great for beginners!!
Moksha Flow (60 min) - For those on the go! The Moksha series condensed into one hour with sun salutations and creative ways to flow the series together. Every class is different!
Moksha Music (90) - The regular Moksha series set to the instructor's favourite tunes.
Moksha Silent (60 min) -
The traditional Moksha Yoga series, practiced in silence. The class is guided, without verbal instruction, by an instructor practicing the series at the front of the room. The class allows the student to explore the depths of their own practice by providing an opportunity to investigate the sensations of the body and the breath more fully. It is a chance to really feel the practice without auditory distraction. This class is best suited for students who are familiar with the series.
Community class (60 & 90min) -
A class taught by a recent graduate from the Moksha Yoga teacher training program or a teacher looking to build community by teaching a reduced price class. All classes are $5 and are a great opportunity for students and teachers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. Feedback for the learning teacher is encouraged!
Hot Power Flow (60 min) -
Creative, progressive, full spectrum sequences linked together through the breathwave. It is a challenging class that works the body on all levels. There is creativity in the sequencing which makes the class unpredictable and a lot of fun. Intermediate level.
Hot Flow (60 & 75 min)-
Focuses on linking breath with movement. Moving from pose to pose in a smooth, easy manner. This class is beginner friendly and a great intro to Hot Power Flow Classes.
Hot Yoga for Surfers (60 min): Weather you snowboard, skateboard, kiteboard this class is for you! We will focus on opening the shoulders and hips while strengthening the core and back. All done to some funky tunes! All welcome (even if you don't surf)!!
Hatha Flow (60 & 90min) Reduced heat. -
This class involves postures practiced in a regular hatha class. Hatha Flow focuses on gracefully moving from one posture to another in a sequence of movements that "flow" with the breath. There is very little rest between postures, providing a strong cardiovascular workout.
Hatha Level 2 (90 min) - This class will focus on building the foundations for inversions like shoulder, head and hand stands. There will also be a focus on pranayama, backbending, arm and elbow balancing.
Intermediate level.
Baron Baptiste Flow (90 min) Reduced heat - The Baptiste style of yoga combines flowing movement sequences of traditional yoga postures with breath work and mind/body awareness tapping into the source you create to feel and ultimately, to heal. Key focal points are breath, core-awareness, and a meditative mind.
Yin Yoga (75 min) Reduced heat -
Yin yoga is a system of yoga designed to open the body, peeling away layers of tension, stress and injury that reside within. A gentle approach is used to stretch the body, using longer holds to get beyond the muscle tissue into the connective tissue, the fascia of the body. It is a great compliment to your regular practice.
Yoga for Runners (75 min) -
Yoga that targets the runners body! This class will help improve performance, help lessen your recovery time and lengthen the muscles used for running. This heated class will help prevent injuries or any arthritic starts
Yin Yang (75 min or 90 min) -
Yin yoga with some vinyasa flow and posture sequencing to warm the body and awaken your energy.
Karma class (Friday night 8:30pm by donation - min $5) -
The regular Moksha series practiced in one hour. All proceeds go to a different charity each month. An affordable class for someone looking to see what this "hot yoga thing" is all about. Bring your friends and family.
Yoga Nidra (30 min) Reduced heat - Yoga Nidra means Yogic Sleep, a state of deep sleep while remaining fully awake. This meditation allows you to gently focus the mind while allowing emotions, sensations and images to arise. This class is very relaxing and is used by Yogis to purify Samskaras, the driving force behind Karma.
